Iran Aseman Airlines
In the year 1980, the revolution council decided to merge four
private airlines, Air Taxi, Air Services, Pars Air and Hoor
Asseman to form a newly named governmental airline, Asseman.
This new company commenced its activities shortly using two
leased F-28. Due to Iran-Iraq conflicts during 1980-88,
Asseman returned these aircraft to the owner and instead, two
F-28-400 used aircraft have been purchased. Until the year
1993, Asseman has developed its fleet by purchasing five
ATR-42 and ATR-72. Two year later, this airline has added up
four B727 to its fleet to improve the air services in domestic
and regional routs. It operates from two main bases in Tehran
and Shiraz
omitting the letter S.
However, it newly purchased six Fokker F-100 of which three of
them have been recently delivered for operation. It seams Aseman has also a short-term business plan to replace the
ATR-42 aircraft by some new ATR-72 in its fleet
